Born in Iran, Marjaneh Goudarzi studied dentistry at the University of Shiraz Medical Science from 1984 to 1990. She served as a Professor of Oral Medicine for dental students for more than 15 years (1991–2006) at the Shiraz Dental School. She participated in her first group painting exhibition in 1998 and 1999. In 2010, Goudarzi immigrated to the U.S. where she achieved her first solo painting exhibition in 2014. From 2013–2018, she taught painting in the Dallas area, while she continued to participate in both group and solo exhibitions. including the DFW Iranian Painting Exhibition, Texas, a group painting exhibition, Iran. America Gala, and a solo “Woman” exhibition. In 2018, Goudarzi enrolled in the Edith O'Donnell Institute of Art History (EODIAH), at The University of Texas, Dallas, and attained the Master of Arts in art history in December of 2019. She accentuated her thesis, “Ludicrous Irony: What the Masks of Grace Hartigan’s Grand Street Brides both Conceal and Reveal,” with the creation and exhibition of more than 50 distinct paintings, entitled “In The Hands of the Paint,” curated by John Pomara, at the UT Dallas SP/N Gallery in the Fall of 2019. She currently works at the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas, Texas as a member of the Visitor Experience team.
